The standard is based on a lifecycle approach for identifying the environmental impacts of room air conditioning products in five key areas: product performance, energy, materials, end-of-life, and manufacturing. This standard serves as an objective and practical measurement tool to assist room air conditioning product manufacturers in evaluating the environmental sustainability of home appliances.
